Reunion Leaders Roundtable
In addition to leading the work of their Reunion Committee in partnership with the HAA staff liaison, the Reunion Committee Chairs will also be part of a larger Reunion Leaders group made up of the Chairs and other leaders from the 5th-70th Reunions, and these leaders will be invited to monthly virtual Reunion Leaders Roundtable meetings to learn about important topics and hear from other volunteers. Beyond these Roundtable meetings, we hope this group will be a community of practice allowing for the Chairs to learn from each other. Of course, your staff liaison will continue to be a great resource to determine best practices.
Roundtable 1: Welcome and Introduction
September 21, 2021
This session featured an overview of the Reunion Leaders Roundtable series, the plans for the coming reunion year, introductions from College Alumni Programs Staff, a summary of the Reunion Year Overview and Reunion Committee Roles and Responsibilities documents (on this page), information about the Class Reports, and information about new engagement and marketing strategies to better reach classmates by email and other means.
Roundtable 2: Budget Overview and Process
October 18, 2021
This session featured a preview of documents for reunion merchandise and favors, as well as virtual events overview and best practices. The main topic was information about the budgeting process and best practices, including planning the reunion budget, the expense categories (University-subsidized vs. class-covered expenses), making purchases and signing contracts, pricing categories, pricing tiers, the budget creation process, financial assistance, and the Reunion Subsidy Program. Roundtable 3: Virtual Events and Best Practices
November 17, 2021
This session featured a review of documents for virtual events overview and best practices as well as class surveys. The main topic was virtual events, and volunteers from four different classes from last year's reunions (from 1966, 1981, 1996, and 2016) each shared information about a virtual event that went well. Attendees then went into breakout rooms by cohort to allow for further questions and discussion. All of the documents can be found on this page.
Roundtable 4: Outreach and Increasing Participation and Engagement
January 11, 2022
This session featured a review of documents for outreach and engagement best practices as well as email best practices. Updates were shared about HAA efforts to reach more reunion-year alumni by email as well as alternative engagement methods. The Class of 1991 shared their own experiences and best practices for engaging their class during their reunion last year. All of the documents can be found on this page.
Roundtable 5: Memorial Services
February 10, 2022
This session featured a review of the document for reunion memorial services overview and best practices. Attendees shared best practices from past reunion memorial services, and then continued those discussions in smaller breakout groups by cohort. All of the documents can be found on this page.
